CEDAR ROCK — Guest speaker for the May Brush and Palette meeting at Cedar Rock Country Club was Wilkes County artist, Cindy Breden.
Experiences from living in Japan, Italy, and England gave Breden many ideas for her oil and watercolor paintings. She spoke about her early art experiences and how her work has evolved into abstraction with watercolor. She has recently exhibited with the ArtMix painting group (for which she has been a member for over 14 years) at the Wilkes Art Gallery in North Wilkesboro.
The Brush and Palette Club is one of the oldest painting clubs in western North Carolina and is located in Lenoir. The June meeting of the Brush and Palette club will take place at Whippoorwill Academy and Village in Ferguson for a picnic and a plein aire session of creating art on location.
